An Athenian red-figure pottery lekythos with a female figure with outstretched arm. A well painted ray decoration around the shoulder. An early 20th Century museum label can be seen on reverse side.

Greek, Athens, late 6th or 5th Century BC

Repaired from 2 sections, with some small amount of repainting.

Ex. Private Collection. Peter Newton, inherited from his Grandfather who was educated at the famous Charterhouse School, Surrey. The school was known to sell parts of its collection in the 1940/50's.
