An inexpensive decorated Uraeus serpent finial with vibrant yellow , blue and red paint. The Uraeus was a symbol of protection and was used in pharonic art as a protector.

Provenance: Agnes Barclay Private collection, acquired during the 1920's-40's in the Home Counties. This was passed through the family and a proportion left to the nephew and niece living in Australia. Many of the items were from the Macdonald and Forman collections at Sotheby's Auctions.
