Romano-Egyptian Dark Burnished Flask, 1st - 3rd Century AD.

A dark red pottery flask in the form of an amphora with a prominent ribbed neck flanked by a two ring handles. Egypt, Roman period. Some chips around the rim, otherwise intact. For a very close parallel and example please compare with Petrie Museum item UC67023 Provenance: Ex. Old collection: Mrs Mary Pearman, [1909 -1999] acquired during her time in Egypt between 1936 - 1944. Ex. Private Collection of Michael Green, Tiverton region, formed between 1980's - 2012.
